Meghan and friends made the benefit a huge success!
Wow, what an event. We haven’t seen a turnout like the one we had for Lisa Hall in a long time, and we have never served that much food. Lisa’s best friend Meghan Williams made the benefit what it was with a lot of hard work. She gathered more raffle prizes than we have ever seen. The donations were huge and too many wonderful people and businesses donated to mention them all. So no one feels slighted I won’t name anyone but you all need to know how much your donations were appreciated. If you were one of the lucky people that won a fantastic prize please thank the donor.

More raffle prized than I could count.
We served about 275 meals and ran out of food. Our varsity kitchen crew hadn’t worked a benefit together in quite a while but it was like riding a bicycle. We were like a well-oiled machine. Darn good thing too, Johnny’s has never cranked that much food out of our tiny kitchen in such a short amount of time EVER! We should have been more explicit about meal service time because some people showed up after 6:30 with pre-sold tickets looking for food. A two-hour window is about all we can guarantee food for. Many people purchase tickets and don’t show up to eat so setting food aside for all of the tickets purchased is not wise. We want to give as many people as possible a chance to have a meal to help the cause. For those of you who missed out we apologize but know that your money went to Lisa’s kids. If you paid for a plate and someone else ate it and paid too, that was more money for the cause.

The varsity team kicked butt in the kitchen.
Speaking of which, I haven’t heard directly from Meghan yet but I believe over $6000.00 was raised. How awesome is that? A big shout out to the crew that worked their tails off to make the Lisa Hall Benefit BBQ one of the most successful ones in Johnny’s history. And we have done a lot of benefits. I have to mention again that it was the hard work (pre-event) of Meghan and her helpers that made this so successful. If you work it they will come!
There was plenty of dancing going on during and after the raffle (which took hours to facilitate because there were soo many prizes.) Everyone I spoke with had a great time.
Thanks again to everyone who helped prepare for the event, served food, donated cash and prizes and participated in any way. We love you all. God Bless, Charisse
